First settled in 1911, Walker’s Cay is known world-wide as a fishing, diving and boating paradise.
This 69-acre Island was improved with the Walker’s Cay Hotel and Marina which featured
62- hotel guest rooms, three villas, the 3-bedroom Harbor House, the Conch and Lobster Trap
Restaurants, two bars, the Treasure Chest gift shop, the Sea Below Dive Shop, swimming pool,
tennis courts, 75-boat slips for vessels ranging from 20 to 80-feet in length, a private air strip and
power plant.

In September 2004, Walker’s Cay was severely damaged by Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne.
The only building on the Island which was virtually unharmed was the Chapel, which was also
the only building built according to building codes which addressed hurricane conditions.
The hotel and marina have been closed since that time. Walker’s Cay still functions as a Port
of Entry with Customs and Immigration located on the Island.

Walker’s has dramatic elevations, rising to 47 feet above sea level, which provide for open
water views from anywhere on the Island. The hotel on Walker’s was built at an elevation
35-feet above sea level.

Walker’s Cay has been owned by the Abplanalp family from New York and their corporation for
the past fifty years. The sale of Walker’s Cay is now pending. Additional information is available from:
